What’s hot in tech this week (and what’s next)?

Hey Techie,
Hey Techie,
It’s been a minute since we’ve been here, and I’m not going to lie I’ve missed talking to you all. The good news? We’re back to bonding with our community and serving up all the juiciness from the tech, AI, and Web3 space.
This week? Whew.
AI wrote 15% of all new code on GitHub last month. It’s clear this is the era of shipping faster, smarter, wilder.
Hiring is heating up again but not for specialists. Generalists who move without a playbook are leading the charge. Makes sense though… structure slows speed.
And Web3? The best product isn’t on-chain, it’s in your group chat. It’s time to stop building for wallets and start building for culture.
It’s Tech. It’s AI. It’s Web3. We’re all in now.
So… what’s up?

Y Combinator's 2025 Startup Trends
Y Combinator highlights emerging sectors for innovation. AI agents for workflow automation, voice-first interfaces, government AI solutions, business-focused stablecoin platforms, and AI-powered engineering tools.Cursor Offers Free Access to Students
Cursor, the AI-powered code editor, is offering free access to its Pro version for verified university students, helping emerging developers enhance their coding skills.Nvidia's AI and Semiconductor Developments
Nvidia is launching a modified H20 AI chip for China, introducing the Llama Nemotron AI model, and powering the Millennium M2000 supercomputer with Blackwell GPUs for advanced chip design, aviation, and biotech applications.Ethereum's Pectra Upgrade
The Pectra upgrade for Ethereum enhances transaction speed, reduces costs, and increases the staking cap, allowing for easier management of large validator holdings.Web3 Gaming Trends
Web3 gaming is gaining momentum with projects like MARBLEX focusing on dynamic NFTs and player-centric designs. Increased venture capital investments indicate growing interest in blockchain-based gaming.

Everyone has a Notion doc but why are only a few are shipping?
I have been stuck on this question for awhile and I think I get it now. Hold on, a conversation with one of the good guys doing amazing things in the web3 space was my eye opener.
Overplanning and playbooks without taking actual action. Yeah, that’s the culprit… Haha
Here’s why we think so
The perfectly structured Notion docs, the colour-coded roadmaps, the 3-week planning cycles. But guess what? Most of those docs are collecting dust while the builders who don’t even have a playbook are out here shipping MVPs before you’ve even started your first sprint.
We’ve hit peak “process.” And it’s stalling the good stuff. In the fast-moving worlds of Web3 and AI, overplanning is a luxury and it’s keeping people from actually building. The ones winning aren’t the ones with the slickest roadmaps. They’re the ones who just ship.
The anti-playbook builder? We love them. They don’t wait for approval. They don’t need a 20-step framework. They throw out raw ideas, get real-time feedback, and build in public. No polish, no guarantees just progress. Because that’s how the best products get made: by moving. By failing. By adjusting faster than anyone else.
You know who they are: the devs launching with zero roadmaps, testing and iterating on the fly. They’re not afraid to make mistakes because they know one thing momentum is worth more than perfection.
Devs, it’s time to wake up. No more “let’s plan” and a repo gathering dust
Forget the rules. Embrace the chaos. Build in public. Gather Feedback. Iterate.
This is the era of the builders who move fast and break everything.
And we’re here for it.

Langchain
Building AI apps that need to chain multiple LLM calls or tools together is messy and complex. Langchain simplifies orchestration of language models and APIs into intelligent workflows.
The Graph
Querying blockchain data for dApps is slow, inefficient, and often requires custom infrastructure. The Graph indexes blockchain data so you can query it efficiently using GraphQL.
OpenZeppelin Contracts
Writing secure smart contracts from scratch introduces major risks and vulnerabilities. OpenZeppelin offers battle-tested smart contract templates and libraries trusted across the Web3 ecosystem.

Martha.ai is a generative AI assistant built to do the talking, literally. Whether it's answering customer questions or handing off chats to your team, she’s trained to serve real estate, blockchain, and e-commerce businesses with human-like precision.

Syx Labs AI and Web3 Hackathon
We won’t say too much (yet), but let’s just say this:
If you’re a builder, dev, or problem-solver on this continent… keep your laptop charged.
A new kind of hackathon is loading, one that actually gets you seen, paid, and built up.
No fluff. No pitch decks. Just real-world problems and world-class outputs.
Stay tuned.
